Oct. 9-13: I had to postpone our picnic to Thursday, October 19. I still have a few people in each class who need to bring in their $5. We have been practising structures to describe the flavor of cheese and give opinions as well as preferences.

Oct.2-6: Students will use the information they gathered from grocery shopping to communicate what they would buy and for how much. They will also use this information to write a journal entry.
Sept. 25-28: Grocery store shopping in french. If students were given $50, what would they purchase for three meals? Students also have to calculate the total (including HST).
Sept. 18-22: We are learning about food and where it comes from.
901 - Due Wed., Sept. 20: 5 food items from home and note where the food comes from on an assignment in GAFE (Turn In this assignment please).
902 - Due Thurs., Sept. 21: 5 food items from home and note where the food comes from on an assignment in GAFE (Turn In this assignment please).
Sept. 12: We are currently working on getting everything organized and set up for a positive start to the school year. I hope you will be able to see our black out poems the night of curriculum night.

April 3-7: Presentations are this week in French class on the mini short animation films.
Feb. 20-24: We have been working on a mini unit on short animation films on the NFB/ONF website:

Nov. 7-10: Reinforce giving a description of furniture, identifying the cost and an opinion on the cost.
Nov. 1-4: Read a book titled: Le Desordre. Continue to collect Ikea magazines. Organize small cards to play La Chance to practise saying prices in french.
Oct. 24-27: Begin to learn furniture vocabulary and describing your current bedroom.
Oct. 17-21: Finish presenting at the restaurant skits. Write a thank you note to the restaurant. Order Ikea magazines in french for our new unit on designing your ideal bedroom.
Oct. 11-14 Students will work on rehearsing their restaurant skits after developing and editing a menu. 802 presents Thursday, Oct. 13 and 801 presents Friday, October 14.
Sept. 26-29 (Friday - no school, PD day for staff): We will continue to prepare for our class trip to Le Bistro. Students will begin working on restaurant scenarios and present their scenarios in class.

Sept. 21: We are going to Le Bistro to enjoy a french dining experience! There will be more details to follow, but I have posted some short videos below to help you learn some restaurant ordering expressions.
